Yeah, this was a great book. It goes into detail of the origin of the Mogwai, it answers numerous questions you probably didn’t think to ask and others that probably annoyed you when you were a kid. Read this as a kid after liking the movie. Actually, I think it added a deeper appreciation for the movie because the nitty-gritty details revealed in the narrative add to the experience. The beauty of the novel, apart from the exceptional writing, is the history of the Mogwai and more details of previous Gremlin assaults; we hear more of the events that hit Kingston Falls on that unfortunate weekend and above everything else it proves that both Damn, this has to be one of the greatest tie-in novels ever written.
